Four Teenage Girls!!

So I have four teenagers....and they are all girls.  You can only imagine what my bathrooms look like and what I might spend each month on simple things like shampoo, hairspray, makeup, and tampons.  Bobby pins and ponytails are treated as local currency and swapping clothes is like trading stock.  Oh, one thing I should mention...I didn't want girls and yes, they know.  I thought boys would be so much easier.  I had visions of playing sports and getting dirty and not ever having to deal with curls and hair bows.   Little did I know, girls are the best and worst of both worlds!

I know you have asked yourself already .... Did you do that on purpose?  The four teenage girl world you are living in?  Didn't you think about spacing them more than a year apart?  Or maybe you had a double set of twins?  Well let me take you back to the beginning....

See, I FELL IN LOVE!!!!   If you have ever met my husband John, you know exactly why.  He's damn gorgeous, has a wickedly intelligent sense of humor, and is the absolute BEST person I know.  He also has a spot in heaven, kinda like VIP parking, because he lives with all women.  He's the kind of guy you look at and say "I'd have his babies" without much thought to the fact that you have to raise them later.   However.....we did not mix up our DNA, not even once.  We took a little different path creating our family.  Previous marriages resulted in two girls for each of us.   I took one look at him and said "I already have two, What's two more?"  See when you've been married awhile, and even pregnant twice you have enough experience to question the decision to do it again, however, single parents with small children are first and foremost sleep deprived making most of their decisions when they are not in the right frame of mind.  Then you throw in THAT guy...the one I married, and I had no shot at rational thinking.

He had two, I had two.   That's all it took, it was a done deal and as we all know from 1st grade math class two plus two equals four.  However I don't remember any other math teacher telling me about the other applicable formulas.  2 + 2 equals 10 times the laundry,  8 times more dishes to wash, zero hot water in the mornings, and 100 times more noise!

It's such a wild time and although I often make fun of having four girls I know I have the best four girls out there.  They are beautiful, messy, intelligent, stinky, hilarious, cranky, thoughtful, motivated, moody, athletic and that is just scratching the surface.  I have four teenagers, all girls, an amazing husband and I LOVE my life with them!
